I took 1st place in a hacker capture the flag(CTF) contest in Blacksburg last night. I don’t think any of the professional hackers were there this time so this was my best chance at another win. I was somewhat demoralized after coming in ~7th last year, so this was a nice boost to my confidence, and should provide some motivation for me to get back to studying.
I won $300 in prizes comprised of a new Flipper Zero, a $100 Hak5 gift certificate, and a bag of Virginia Cyber Range swag. Below are some photos, the final scoreboard, and some screenshots of several of the solved puzzles.
